BACKGROUND
The Youth in Action Programme is to encourage young people to reflect on European Topics including European Citizenship (EU) and to involve them in the discussion on the construction and future of the European Union. On this basis, projects have a strong European dimension and stimulate reflection upon the emerging European society and its values.
Youth Association creACTive hosted the international training course “keep up” for EVS mentors and coordinators. The project started from 1st to 9th of November 2009 in Struga, Macedonia.

Young people from Bulgaria, Macedonia, Poland and Serbia participated in this project, which was aimed at training youth workers and youth leaders to be capable for preparing, implementing and evaluating workshops on cultural diversity within international youth exchanges. Thus, besides the other activities related to the topic, the participants also had a chance to try designing and implementing workshops during the project itself. In addition, they also visited Ohrid, tried traditional food and drinks from all four countries, experienced Struga night life and enjoyed the clean waters of Ohrid Lake.
The training course “Knowing me – Knowing you” was financially supported by the Youth in Action Programme of the European Commission. Thanks to all participants for the great job that was done, and to our trainers for the high quality program that was implemented!
